LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
A non-resident exotic license costs $45 for 5 days or $125 through August 31 each year. For native game (whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, javelina, turkey), the license cost is $300 and includes exotics through August 31 each year. You may purchase your license by phone (800-895-4248), on the internet (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/licenses/), or at a gun shop in Texas.
WEATHER/CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT:
The weather is usually beautiful in the Hill Country, but come prepared. We recommend a heavy coat and gloves for winter, short sleeved shirts for summer, and both for spring and fall. Bring rain gear as a precaution. Don't forget your binoculars and camera. While .243 and .257 rifles are acceptable, we recommend that you shoot a .270 to .300
